This morning he opened the 6th edition of the Barcelona Tapa's route. An initiative which aims to stimulate gastronomic restoration of Barcelona and it is directed for the locals & the thousands of people who visit the city everyday.


The new edition of the route, which has 66 stores and will be held from February 21 to March 3 is an initiative of the Guild of Food and Estrella Damm Barcelona that has the support of the City of Barcelona, and Gastronosfera Loodic.

After more than three years since the first edition, the route that values ​​the best tapas in the city and is a must. Moreover, the conclusion of this edition coincides with the Mobile World Congress, an event that will show the quality international cuisine restaurants and bars in the city, as well as boost consumption in a month especially difficult for the catering industry.

Semana Santa Holy Week 2013 in Spain


In 2013 Semana Santa will be the week of 24 - 31 March. 
Semana Santa is Holy Week, and Sevilla’s celebration is likely the most famous in the world. 

Holy Week is the last week of Lent (a period of forty days of fasting, prayer and penance for Christians) and contains the days of the Easter Triduum, as Holy Thursday, Holy commemorating the Last Supper, and the Good Friday, commemorating the crucifixion and death of Jesus.

The paso from the Macarena is perhaps one of the most famous imagenes of the Virgin Mary.
There are than 55 church brotherhoods, some dating as far back as the 13th century, carrying over 115 different floats, named "pasos", through the streets of the city, carried by the Nazarenos.

Most of the "pasos" marching bands plays music. Some processions, such as "El Silencio",however march in silence and without music.  Almost every procession includes an image of Christ or the Virgin Mary, depicts an some scene from the bible.


Semana Santa means more than the processions in the streets, marks the arrival of spring in Sevilla, the end of the winter, with a week long celebration that fills the winding streets, churches, bars and restaurants, to the beggining of la Feria de Abril.

The carnival tradition in Cadiz, situated on the southern tip of Spain, has been around for centuries and has been passed down from generation to generation. Gaditanos - the inhabitants of Cadiz - of all ages take to the streets in fancy dress. Over the last few years, the festivities have also attracted an entirely different population: young sudents spanish language.

The Andalusians are doing things their way in their special Carnival, and in the labyrinthine streets of Cadiz, small groups form at each crossing, chanting in Spanish. Under their ridiculous costumes they mock the elites and power, however their message is serious: they are a chorus.
